Richard Leakey's excavation at Turkana produced the nearly complete 1.6 million-year-old skeleton of a young male, age 14. Leakey examines the bones of "Turkana boy" in the field camp, before they are removed to the National Museums of Kenya, Nairobi. Lake Turkana lies in the great Rift Valley, between Kenya and Ehtiopia, site of many important fossil finds.
