Alan Simpson's father, Milward L. Simpson (1897-1993) was an attorney who served as Governor of Wyoming from 1955 to 1959 and as a U.S. Senator from 1962 to 1967. Alan Sipson followed his father into the practice of law, and later, into the United States Senate.
