Sidney Poitier and John Cassavetes in Edge of the City (1957). This thriller was adapted from a live television play, A Man is Ten Feet Tall, in which Poitier also starred. The film enhanced Poitier's growing reputation in the film industry, but he was yet to become a box office star.
