Mystery of the Cosmos: Life's Place in the Universe

Description: How was the universe created? How did life arise on Earth? Could there be life on other planets? Mankind has long sought to uncover answers to these complex, yet basic questions. Our panel of guests will discuss these essential queries, as well as other interesting questions posed by a group of high school students. They will share the information that current research and exploration efforts have yielded, and discuss the continuing search for understanding of the mysteries of the cosmos.
PROGRAM FOCUS: Science -- cosmology and the origin of life; space exploration; technology.
History -- impact of politics on the direction of science; conflicts between science and religion.
Sociology -- societal values and priorities; interaction of science and society.
