Pre-Viewing Activity: Student Handout
Before viewing the program consider these questions:
1. How can words have "power?" Give examples from your reading experiences.
2. Which fiction or nonfiction writer do you believe has the ability to use words powerfully?
3. Which poems have an impact on you because of the way the poet uses words to describe feelings?
4. How do you think writers find the "right" words? What role does inspiration play? How much of that skill comes from hard work?
